    Hi All

Engine light on....Tossed a EVAP LEAK TEST on a reader....started checking and under plastic cowl, massive squirrel nest...wondering where the new red one was living...anyhow, cleared out the nest, got rid of pest, but found when digging into the engine light he had chewed thru some wires....pic below...what sensor is this...looks like i can't rewire due to how close the cut is to the sensor.

    1) What is this sensor, and anyone know the OEM number?
    2) This looks like it's part of a large harness as it snakes under...does this entire harness need to be replaced?

Ouch. Maybe you can find a pigtail / cutoff on ebay? I was able to replace a melted connector on another car that way. First thing I did when I got mine home is pull off the engine cover and prop the hood open with a drumstick, but we have to do that with all the cars...

You should be able to buy the connector housing and the electrical pins that go in the housing. The pins come with a short length of wire already attached that you can solder to your existing wires.

Maybe @caribe makaira can identify it?

If you can post a pic with a wider view that would help.

Never had, or saw issues with squirrels of any color chew wiring...wood yes. Mice have been a big issue here. Those little bastards have been on my hit list for years.

I have a menace of a squirrel that runs all over my roof and siding. I'm hoping the local owl took care of him, he's been MIA for awhile.

Them and chipmunks. I use these Jawz plastic rat traps tied to a stake baited with sunflower seeds to nail those little critters. For years they've been digging up my garden destroying young plants. Last 2 years I caught over a 100 of them, and had the best garden yet.

I have a similar problem and solution with the chipmunks, which I refer to as fancy mice. No damage to the Taco yet, but they destroy my gardens, undermine stairs, and drive my Schnauzers nuts. THEY MUST DIE!

That's a fuel rail pressure sensor I believe, Toyota most likely makes some type of repair connector for that.

The wife thinks they're so cute, but they are destructive little bastards. I take a lot crap ridding the yard of them. Problem is we got the bird lady next door with feeders throughout her yard. It attracts all these varmints along with 400 lb black bears.

Years ago, my ex bought for me a squirrel proof bird feeder. She then demanded that I call a truce with the tree rats. I did. Shortly thereafter she started growing potted flowers outside. Well, I am doing some project and she comes running to me shouting, "kill it, kill it"! End of story!

Love that story. My wife thinks they're cute, but if she's not home I "have permission". (as long as there no corpses) Throw them out on the power lines (they run thru my property) and the other critters eat 'em up.

I feed the chipmunks I catch in my traps to the area crows. They come by everyday for a snack.
