With lift kit and bigger tires, just noticed my iphone GPS reads me going 4 mph faster than the truck.

do i need to recalibrate that?

Only if you want to know your true speed.
I stayed a few mph below the posted speed limit if I was worried about it.

Your speedometer and odometer are based on/calibrated to a certain diameter wheel. When you change the diameter of the wheel, your speedometer has no way of knowing it changed. There are several ways to re-calibrate it, if you want it corrected. Do a search above, and you’ll find plenty of info.

Also, let’s see some pics of the truck with the new skins!!

    I hear you.
    I blame mathematics.

I think some guys use hypertech and rough country recalibration devices.
I guess it’s up to you and how bad you want it to be “right”.

It’s simple mathematics. If you increase the radius of your tires/rims, the time it takes to complete a full 360 degree cycle changes. Hence why your mph is off. Vehicles come calibrated to stock size.

Probably because you never asked. Most guys know this going in when installing larger tires

Are you saying it was correct in stock form?

That's pretty rare, they are usually (intentionally) 2-3 over actual. And a modest dia increase often corrects that.

BTW, yeah, most everyone who's ever messed with wheel/tire changes on any vehicle realizes that's a thing.

And your gear is working right. You're the one that altered the parameters.

The tire calculator may help you envision things a bit.

Sorry fellas. Im a 54 year old moron. Started a few mods and couldn't stop.

now my new 10” stinger head unit changes the time randomly.

also, the Rim guys are adjusting the front shocks because the Taco rides rough as shit.

Beautiful truck. I would have bet money you were 20. I’d love to be critical and say how the f could you be 54 and never knew tire size wouldn’t change your actual speed reading. However, I don’t know your background so I won’t judge. Now you know. It’s really no big deal. It’s “accurate” just a few mph different. 62 is your new 65…(it changes your odometer roll up too if you hadn’t put 2 and 2 together.) Your actual miles will never be accurate again.

This is only an issue if you actually obey the speed laws.

Dude, your odometer reading is in violation of FEC 11 CFR § 100.93 (a)(3)(iv) — send me your truck asap for proper disposal.
