    Big reason I've liked having Scanguage in my vehicles is because of how unobtrusive it is. New one is a bit much for me. Fewer color screens the better.

    My thoughts exactly. I expect the dot-matrix LCD, physical buttons, and simpler software to hold up better over time than a touchscreen running a full operating system.

    Android hardware can be pretty cheap if you don't need state of the art, and you avoid the Google licensing fees if you don't include Google apps (including the Play Store).

    I'm not a Linux or Android dev, but I assume Android has an advantage of Raspberry Pi in that it comes with a well-understood stack and tool set for developers--even if the hardware itself costs a bit more, the overall development process can be cheaper. @0xDEADBEEF or @Wulf might have better-informed thoughts though.

    I need a pouch. We use a jar and I think she is running into the sound. A week of hard training though and Znüni had really dialed in a lot of things.

    there are a lot of cheaper options but I use this one. It has magnetic (for the main) and velcro closures (inner pocket) so it doesn't spill when I take it off and lay it down lol

    @Daddo

    I'm going to be doing the same and welding my plate to some square tube; I had this thought of welding a set of those parts to the rear face of my bumper but decided I didn't want it permanent :laughing:

    I had a 32oz Nalgene bottle of moscow mule last night. Haven’t drank much but beer over the last year. Definitely destroyed me.

    Going with a straight Linux base would be my preference, assuming I had to have an OS. This is because I have zero experience with Android :laughing:

    I’m working on an internal project right now using a Teensy 4.1 - 600mHz arm that you can run under the arduino framework. It has Ethernet and an sd card, so it’s got a ton of possibilities. Could definitely do wifi over serial if one were so inclined.

    In west Texas it’s more likely to be a tumbleweed battle royale.
