A total joke. A fellow member was nice enough to send me his old service manual. Expected delivery 3/3. Tracked it this morning and this is what I see.

I live about a half hour drive from the S ME dist. center for reference.

    Anyway, rant over.

We had a shipment do that recently. It went from Montana, all the way to Florida, only to come back here to WA.

When the Federal Retirement Benefits have all gone to shit, and the pay isn't all that great for the work that's required, it's a lose/lose situation. Our local delivery person starts work at 4AM everyday, works 6 days a week, and rarely ever makes it home for dinner.

I don't even have that luxury. To be fair the guy isn't too bad personally, but the number of times I've come home to the lid on the mailbox being left open and everything soaking wet is way too often

Couple years ago had an overnight real estate purchase payment going from central MN here to seller near Phoenix, AZ. Ended up going to Utah and then up to Anchorage, AK...before finally getting down to AZ four days late. LMAO Glad the seller was understanding about it!

If $20.00/hr plus to start is isn`t that great. Entry level job for very little work in a small rural post office

Maybe these packages have AI capabilities now.

Shit, here in the PNW, $20 an hour is barely enough to survive on, with the rising cost of living the past few years.

That jogged my memory of an even worse USPS experience I had in 2021.. Ordered a few shirts from Junkyard Digs in Iowa. Honestly I forget all the details, but it traveled the country for a few weeks, then got lost in the system for well over a month before ending up back in Iowa. IIRC it was just over 90 days from initial ship date to delivery.

I googled it for shits n giggles. I could have walked there and back, assuming 8 hrs a day, in roughly the same time!

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that not every package gets scanned and sometimes it just gets tossed into the wrong truck.

We had a bucket of lab samples go into a repeating loop of hell. It arrived at a distro center and stopped dead there for two weeks. After a little prodding we found a direct line to the warehouse and talked to them.

"It's not moving because the label fell off and we can't ID it."
"... How do you know the label fell off?"
" Because I have it on my desk right now. Red plastic bucket, white lid, right? Has your name and address written on it."
"Fantastic. Can you please print a new label and send it on its way?"
"No we can't do that. The label fell off. We're not allowed to create a new label."
"So how do we get it moving again?"
"It needs a label to ship."
"And how can we get a label attached to it?"
"We're not allowed to create a new label here."
"Then how do we resolve it?"
"I'd be very happy to get this off my desk. It just needs a label."

    :annoyed:

We wound up writing the samples off. Enjoy your desk bucket of rocks, weird warehouse person.
