Repairing cut wiring harness

I need to know how to identify which of these wires is going to the light and which are coming back. I have the TIS for another day, but I'm still lost. Can anyone help? The first picture is of the back of the left tail light assembly. If I can figure out the numbers from the schematics? The second picture shows the wiring for both tail lights coming from the front of the truck on the left. The top is the wires coming from the left light assembly, some are going to the light, and some are going to the right tail light. How can I differentiate?
