I’m currently running LT285/70R17’s with a three inch lift on a 2015 taco. I’m wanting to go to a 265/70/17 tire. The current wheels have a 4.5” bs, with a -6 offset on a 8.5 wheel. I’m wanting to have the tires not stick out past the fenders. Can anyone tell me what I would need for a back space on say an 17 x8.0 wheel? Or am I just confused?!

If you go with 0 offset on a 17 inch wheel with 265s you’ll be in the
fenderwell. Similar specs to the trd pro wheel.

I have a 3rd gen, but for reference here are 275/70r17s on 17x8 et+5s. Absolutely perfectly flush.

I have 17x8.5 zero offset KMCs and they just poke out a tiny bit. As others have stated a 0 offset or +5-ish offset should get you there on an 8" wide wheel

@Canyon lands I agree with what's been mentioned. A 0 offset is a solid fitment for what you are trying to set up.

I have a similar setup on my '15 with 17x9 +0 wheels and 265/70R17 tires. Mine protrude slightly from the fenders, with 17x8 +0 wheels you'll have the wheel lip 1/2" further inward but the tire sidewall would likely still be in about the same spot. My math may or may not be accurate here but if you're trying to bring the whole thing in you'll probably have to either go with somewhere around maybe a +5 to +10 wheel offset or step down the tire width to a 255.

What are you running for a back space?

I haven’t been able to measure it exactly, but I used Discount’s conversion chart and it should be around 4.75”.

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
265/70/17's on 17x8.5 with - 10mm offset. Tread is basically flush with the top of the wheel opening.
