Hey OP, does a regular Alucab canopy on a DCLB help you here?

Well for a plain jane, the side hatches are the same size as the short bed, just sitting forward all the way. I imagine the contour might be the same?

I asked alucab online what the 6' version would look like. They said the windoor will be centered on the topper. I did some image searching online and found this.

I’ve seen the same image. One of the reasons i want to see one in the wild is because in the space in front of the window and behind it. I’ve seen a picture where the metal had a pretty obvious weld. It doesn’t bother me but my wife doesn’t care for the look of the weld and boxy look. Personally it’s probably more watertight and more durable than the RSI smart cap. But it’s a joint decision. So far the RSI and its pretty looks are winning.

I am waiting on my Alu-Cab Contour to arrive. I had considered the RSI early on as an option. Ultimately, I read about some of the problems that people had with their RSI Smartcaps and how their customer service chose to handle those issues and it made me think a bit more. I would take a bit of time to research people's experiences to make your informed decision. I started to like the boxy look of both the Alu-Cab Contour and the GFC topper. That was a closer race and could have gone either way. Both of those are similar, but still are uniquely different in their approach. Also, both are light compared to other options due to their construction. The new Contour should have a positive pressure vent to help keep the dust out.

There are visible welds all over the short bed Contour Canopy. Just a FYI.

I don't find them bad at all, adds to the appeal personally. They are not beautiful aluminum tig welds, but production welds with a spool gun.

Have you guys heard of any solutions Alu-cab has for their locks freezing shut? I’m looking at the Contour and Gfc topper as options.
