You people doing 3D printing... KUDOS. I think fabricating your own accessories or replacement parts to address a problem is crazy great.
@grumpy_wizard - you could probably productize it. Etsy?

Glad I was able to direct you here, @grumpy_wizard.

Would you be willing to share a parts list and the STL? This is something I’m interested in doing. Do you use a case when charging?

edit - I see in your note that you are using a phone case. Does it have the camera protection lip?

Yea, I noticed this right away too. I have a Samsung with a Magsafe case so it's not as much of a problem for me. My wife's iphone does have that little air gap.
When I get around to it again I'll probably re-print the base to have it sit higher and then cut a hole into the rubber pad to allow phones to sit more flat.

Attached is the STL file for 3d printing. It's pretty basic and anyone with any design skills can easily improve it.

I had all of the parts except the charger already, but here are similar parts:
    Voltage step down: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L5VRBZS
    Fan: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZJ47Z2J
    Magsafe Charger: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095BZFX4L

Putting it all together is pretty self explanatory.
Cut the wiring harness that connects into the factory charger.
Using this image pin 11 is power and 12 is ground.

Solder these two wires to the input side of the voltage step down. Using a multimeter turn the step downs adjustment screw until 5V are being read on the output. A drop of super glue can be used to lock this screw in place.

With the step down now converting 12V to 5V, cut the magsafe wire and solder the red wire to the + and the black wire to the -. At the same time, solder the same wires from the fan to the respective terminals.

Everything should work now. Place the phone on the charger to verify its charging and press the QI button to verify that turns the charger on and off.

No need to cut. Leave OEM harness intact.(M5) Crimp terminals on connector to original charger, use factory switch to turn on/off added Lollypop charger.

Yea I don't have a pin removal tool or else I would have just swapped the pins. Splice terminals could also have been used, but personally I don't like using them.

You would have to de-pin or splice. Crimp terminal to added PCB wires, insert into mating connector, use OEM switch for ON/Off.

Has anybody found a good candidate yet for fast charging?

Just saw the TSB for bubbling, but mine is a 2016 and was out of the warranty period.

I have a pixel 5 with an aftermarket head unit. Just wanted Android auto, but my phone overheats when on the wireless charger for longer than five minutes. I want to get that 15W charger, then make some vent holes and add a fan to blow air and keep my phone at least at a manageable temp to keep charging.

I believe the numerous threads I've seen have all come to the same conclusion which is that venting heat is the main issue. Especially if you want something OEM looking. Not to mention the Qi chargers that are put in have to account for the lowest common denominator of what phones are capable of wireless charging and thus can't use a ton of output.

Does anyone have a link to a delete kit/plate for the Qi charger? Mine also is bubbled up. I dont use it. The cubby looks terrible all bubbled up. Any suggestions? Besides I want to use the switch space for a forward camera.
    Thank you all.

There was a TSB for the bubble charger. If you take the part number from that TSB, you can just order the top rubber plate.

It's a pretty easy repair and doesn't cost much. I didn't like my replacement options.
The bubble comes from overheating on long term use. I just fixed it and don't use it too often.
A switch cubby insert of some sort would be rad though.
