I've got two days to travel from St George to Moab in the beginning of April.

Not looking to spend the days rock crawling, but I would like to get off the paved paths.

I'm traveling in a 2021 DCLB OR with go fast camper. Looking to use the GFC over night.

Never been to the area and open to suggestions. Zion and Bryce canyon are the obvious, thinking of including Cottonwood canyon road and Valley of the good but open to suggestions?

We’re getting clobbered by weather and it looks to continue through next week.

I’d keep an eye on the GSNM road conditions. It’s been soupy and messy all month.

There is no direct way between the two cities. There are some north-south-running dirt roads between the two cities that you might find interesting, but in early April (just 2 weeks away) you will run into snow or at the least, into extremely muddy (spelled s-l-i-p-p-e-r-y) areas. But no matter what you decide to do, eventually you'll hafta cross the Green River and the only bridge that crosses it is I-70.

The only other way is to cross the Colorado River by taking UT 95 south outta Hanksville about 60 miles.

The second paragraph in the preceding link is what I would suggest.

    Thanks!

Anyone have any more recent info on Cottonwood Canyon road? GSENM road conditions update is from 3/17 so it's a little old

The Cottonwood Canyon road that I know is a dirt road that starts at US 89 about 26 miles north of Page, AZ and runs north to Henrieville, UT. On GoogleEarth the road number is 7000.

The last time I was there (sometime around 1988) the lower part was severe washboard and I mean s-e-v-e-r-e ! No idea about its condition nowadays but I doubt it has improved.

If you don't mind jarring your teeth out, go ahead and try it. You'll find it to be an extremely nice experience, especially where it goes through Cottonwood Canyon, especially if you start out at Henrieville and drive south.
