Over the weekend I was camping with the family. Decided to make the little boy some hot chocolate. Took the jet boil and some milk and started heating it up. Turns out this ends up being a disaster.

The milk boiled over. ALOT. Saturated my mountain hatch tailgate. Jet boil burner shut off. Probably ruined it. Left the bottom of the metal cup with a layer of burnt crusted milk. Got everything wiped up. When I went to close the tailgate, milk pored all over the bumper and down the back.

Is this cause for concern with the tailgate ?

Did I ruin the Jet Boil ? And how do I get the burnt milk crust out of the cup ?

As for the Tailgate...wash it and see?

As for the JetBoil, I have no idea. The better question is why on earth would someone use a JetBoil if they weren't backpacking? Legitimate question. I think a lot of folks get sucked into a trendy tool... A Coleman stove is way cheaper and make better sense for truck camping, does it not?

+1 on the Coleman stove suggestion.

    4 run, 2 don't
    Yep!

    Unless backpacking, always the Coleman.

There's just nothing better than what I call "breakfast hash". I buy pre-seasoned fajita meat, cut up some pieces of bacon, brown some potatoes and let it get to know each other in the pot. Slap it on a tortilla, add hot sauce and bobs your uncle. Best trail breakfast you'll ever have.
