    2023 Tacoma Trail - possibly?
What are your thoughts? Buy what is known and works or wait for new Tacoma?

Historically the later years of Toyota production vehicles are the most reliable, whereas the early years have growing pains.

Only you can decide whether you want the old school truck, or the fancy new technology.

Buy what's known. With new gen comes a new sticker MSRP

Some like to buy later in the lifecycle or some buy earlier.

There is going to be at least half a year between the reveal of the 4th gen and the end of sale of the 3rd gen. You'll have a window to decide. If you're ok with buying whatever is left over on the lot, depending on where you live and a bunch of unpredictable factors you may be able to drive a 4th gen before buying a new 3rd gen.

You asked the million dollar question... I happened to get a '23 out of necessity, nothing to do with the new generation coming out. I crashed my last vehicle. But I do feel like I got lucky needing a truck this year instead of next. The new generation of pretty much anything usually takes a year or two to get it right. That and I generally feel like turbos tend to fail over time. The better gas mileage for a '24 would be nice though. The new sticker price will be interesting too. Once mid to high $40k range for a TRD starts to be the norm you have to wonder how much you really want the new shiny thing.

I was in just in your shoes. I just got a 2023. I was tempted to wait and planned to but all the headaches and build quality with the tundra sold me on not waiting for the 2024. I love the body style and while most think the interior is dated I love this style and simplicity I think the newer tundra with the toggle switches and digital therm and shiny piano key black look dated imo. Also I do not think the 2024 will come in DCLB, only ACLB rumors but another reason I stick with the last of the v6 NA engine if that’s the case. The only thing missing for me thst the 2024 will have is wireless CarPlay and safety sense 3.0 but neither are a deal breaker by any means.

I've had a 3rd gen, it's OK. I'd wait for the next generation.
