So I was on the way to work this morning and noticed my check engine light and Trac off light came on and don't know why, any of this happened to anyone? I'll go to my local Advance Auto Parts and see what's going on.

Normal for the engine light to also turn on the Trac Off light, get the code(s) and report back so we can see where we need to start checking.

Thanks, I'll definitely have it checked out today after work, I hope it isn't anything serious.

Well I didn't go to get it checked out however I did do a YouTube search on this and it said to disconnect the neg battery terminal for about 5-10, min then plug it back, and it worked, no check engine light or Trac off light, but I wonder, why did it pop up in the first place? Is this common in tacos??

Now that you disconnected the battery and cleared the codes, we will never know.
Do note that, some codes won’t come back until certain criteria are met.
Such as drive cycles, engine speed, ready monitors are passed, ect.

Drive it a few days. They may come back.
    But let’s hope not.

Almost any engine/transmission code that sets will turn both of those lights on, unhooking the battery/clearing the code isn't fixing the problem. The lights will most likely come back on as soon as the test(s) for the code(s) thats were set run and fail again.

My truck is doing this this morning. Last night I drained my battery doing a light bar install and had to jump it.

Your gas cap is either loose ( happens a lot ),or the caps rubber seal is dried and cracked.
Retighten your cap and see if the light goes out are driving a few miles,if it does you will still have too clear the code out.
