Hi everybody I have a Toyota Hilux 4x4 V6 4 litre with a A750f transmission ( I know it's not a Tacoma but they don't sell Tacoma's here in Australia and it's same motor and Transmission)
I used to own a Tacoma when I had a job getting a boat ready to head back to Australia in Bayou Le Batre in Alabama ( Yes it's where Bubba out of Forrest Gump came from) for six months back a few years back .
Anyway my truck has a problem and it is that it won't proceed under its own power faster than 5 mph . Mechanic said the clutches in the transmission are gone and it needs a new transmission.
I was driving along and went to go up a hill and truck started to rev high and started to slow down . pulled over , checked fluid ( whilst idling) all ok . Stayed put for 30 mins ( in case it was overheating) but no luck . Got towed to mechanic and he gave me the bad news $4500 . Couldn't afford $4500 , so got towed back home.
I have had blown tranny's before and they started slipping a little bit before going completely.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
