Noise under bed while being turned off

    Sorry for the rookie question, but can someone tell me what this is? Heard a noise underneath the bed of the truck while my truck was tuned off(truck had been of for a few hours). Looks like it was coming from this part. Thanks. 2022 Limited 4x4

    100% Normal. It’s the fuel evap leakage check, or something like that. It’s in the manual, says it happens approx 5 hours after being turned off. Welcome to TW

    I heard my new Tacoma doing this a few weeks ago and thought it was related to something staying on when it shouldn't. It stopped eventually and I guess I haven't been in the right place at the right time to hear it again, so left my worries about it at the door. The thing that really concerned me was the thing sounding like a diesel with the direct injection when I first heard it run. I get comments from people now and then trying to tell me something is wrong in the valvetrain. When I tell them about the injection I usually get a 'yea right' look.
