Is my understanding that Thread Locker Tape, works well on HOT threads. looks a-lot like teflon plumbers tape. But the only first hand knowledge I have on this, is a stove builder told me to use this on the screws of my cast iron fireplace doors. The screws that hold the glass kept backing out from vibration of the way the doors latch. One and done for the glass holding screws, might be worth a try.

I believe they run in the low .040's range. I wouldn't touch them, as you want a larger gap anyways for a cleaner burn.

Cool. I didn't gap mine, and haven't noticed any issues, but another user was asking on the Tundras forum. Instructions say to gap the IHK's to .032. another guy gapped his to .022. I think OP said his Ruth's were .044 out of the box.

Oh shoot. Excuse me. I was overzealous and wrote the gap wrong without making sure. The gap on these is .031 from the factory.

Thinking since the Ruth's have a physically different metal thing at the end, didn't need the smaller gap(?)

I wouldn't worry about going smaller. I actually discourage it as I tried gapping once at .024 if I remember correctly when I ran copper as a test and I wound up getting misfires. You want more gap for sure.

doing any non stock engine swap is a shit ton of work. going from 236 hp (2G)/279 hp (3G) to 420 HP is worth it. some people are putttingg LS engines in that have less HP than the turbo v6. i bet the amount of work between the LF3 and LS engine isnt much difference. hell, we can ask @Drewthecarguy what he thinks

I was more in the line of I’d rather have a Maggy 3rd Gen and have roughly 100 hp less with 4wd but be able to take to the dealer or even be able to trade in the truck if something happens. Cause if you can’t do the work yourself that I can assure you that jump in power isn’t worth the money

The main benefit I see is the trans if I’m honest. Those 8speeds if it’s a ZF are very nice.

The likelihood of anyone who's gone through the effort of a non-stock swap going to a dealer for work is pretty slim. They are either going to DIY or have an independent shop that they work with.

Jeez I just wanted some convo on the subject from people who actually mod their trucks lol. No need to get all defensive about it.

Well by doing a drivetrain swap you are no longer fully Toyota pure inside and out. This thread is filled with purists of the ideology (including myself) what did you expect? :boink::D;)
