Fold UP (not DOWN) Workbench Ideas, Please

Hi all,
I'm looking for some ideas for a folding workbench (attached to a wall) that you need to fold UP to use. I've seen many that are fold DOWN, but I have built in shelves above the area I'm wanting my workbench, so I need something that "hangs down" when not in use.
I'd like to see not just the top of your bench, but how you have it attached to the wall, what the support structure looks like, and how the legs of the bench are attached (if they're folding) or how you attach them when the bench is raised up.

Damn, I like that. I was about to order some fixed brackets to make a plant grow space in the garage for the wife. I like this a lot better, a little pricey though.

 

I like those. It says table size is limited to 24" x 40". I wonder if I can safely use 4 of those brackets for a 30" x 60" table.

 

You could probably use a piano hinge and build a standoff shelf about 6" out from the wall. You'll just need to account for the width of the drop-down legs if you go that route. Alternatively, you could try something like how this guy made his fold out wings for his miter station albeit on a larger scale with a second wing. If you add adjustable leveling feet but install them upside down on the wing, you can establish a level table.

The real question is the size bench you need??

How much weight does it need to support? 500 pounds 1000 pounds .

Do you want Wood ,Steel maybe Aluminum for the surface ??

What kind of support structure do you have to anchor the bench to??

I had a steel bench hinged at the wall supported by 3/8" steel chains .

It also had a 2" receiver vise mount .

 

I’d like to have a ~24”x-60-72” bench top. I have 2x4 studs to anchor the brackets to. My use will be basic DIY stuff, motorcycle repair, car/truck stuff (lighter duty there; I’m not rebuilding an engine or transmission on it).

 

Thank you for all of your replies. I like these brackets. However, it says max table width is 40”.
If I buy two sets (to make a wider table) releasing all 4 might be a problem since the release tabs are recessed. Any ideas on how I can release all 4 at once?

Just an idea since there is no weight but the table

These look like pull to release run a cable parallel in front of the supports attach another perpendicular cable in the front in the center .

With some trial and error you should be able to make it work.

 

How did this work out for You??

 

I've not gotten them yet, but plan to soon. Originally I wanted to get two sets, so I could make a larger workbench than the 40" width that Rockler recommends. But releasing all 4 brackets at once was going to be a problem. Someone gave me the great idea of just making two 40" wide benches but setting it up so they were right next to each other. Plus, I could use one bench or the other, or both as needed. Once I get everything set up, I'll post up some pics.
