1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I feel this in my soul.

It’s always fun trying to explain that something with bugs is in fact not done and needs to be fixed, even though it will hold up new features (some of which depend on it working correctly)

 

"Heeeeeyyyyy shit is broken should we fix it before release?" - dev team

"This is not a major bug and doesn't break the user experience, we'll fix it in the next release" - internal stakeholders who somehow don't understand that it is a core part of the user experience

2 days later:
"We need to fix a critical user experience issue. Has anyone seen this bug? let's make a hot fix to resume functionality immediately" - same internal stakeholders

 

WHY DID NO ONE SEE THIS ISSUE COMING

I feel bad for the customers so often. I hate wasting their time with broken shit.

 

That's a great thing about working for a small company - I'm the main user of my own software so I'm the cause and effect lol

 

Are you good on those diff mount parts you needed, I saw that post from @6P4 and it looks like he's got it all in bulk...realized I forgot to check last night on those bolts

 

At this point it's just as much a feature as anything else

"Aren't you glad you pay the SaaS subscription fee? The continuous updates are important!!1!1!1"

 

That sounds like a nice setup to me.
Mods and parts for these add up damn quick.
(I do want to get the rear side flares like on your R for mine, that's a cheap fix)

Intel or dual G5? I mean either way i guess its gonna overheat but the intel ones didn't as bad

I don't tax it these days obviously, but the fact it still works smoothly is cool. I've seen some forums/YT vids of people overhauling these. Haven't looked too deeply into it but might be a good summer project.

 

Ahh I remember using those in the multimedia class in high school. I just wanted the chassis lol, Apple can suck it

Yeah there are some people really into rebuilding/modding them. I'll have to read what he says about his. Wonder how many customers he gets haha.
Still their best case imo

 

Yeah such a good design. Went downhill after these. To go from these to the trashcan was batshit crazy.
