As the title states anyone done it? I know it's probably not a bolt on afair but i imagine a exhaust shop could shorten/ lenghten anything needed. With the quality of replacement stuff now a days and hearing stories of the Walker/rock auto stuff rusting out in a few years i started looking around. Seems tons of guys upgrade the stock exhausts on the their 3rd gens and i found whole OEM catbacks for under $200.

I'm thinking of taking some rough measurements of my stock system and going to look at a few listed locally.

If you can adjust the system to fit yourself it might work out .If you can source the parts Free even better.

Thing is paying labor for this will be expensive every new weld is another area that will rust sooner.

Any replacements parts will need to be custom fitted.

Your ahead just having a new system built for your truck at your local pipe bender. Labor wise it might be cheaper.

I can understand budget limits . Reworking used exhaust systems is a pain In some states it is illegal if enforced.

    Best of luck

I wouldn't think it would be too bad of a modification. If there is a way to compare both side by side then its easier to know.

I Haven't taken a car to a muffler shop for over 10 years so don't know what they're charging now a days. As for the shop built exhaust it's usually zinc or w/e coated pot metal and i doubt it will last the 20+ years my stock exhaust lasted. Unless i had a hot rod shop $$$$ custom TIG weld me a stainless steel setup nothing is gonna come close to the quality of a factory toyota exhaust.

I guess it depends just where you live in my part of the country Exhaust shops fabricate Stainless Steel Exhaust systems.

Why Tig welding Mig has made it easier to weld exhaust systems just need to match the correct filler wire for the grade stainless you have.
