We had a cold spell, and the battery lost enough power to not crank the engine. Used a jumper pack to get it started and check the battery/Alternator, checked good. Now I have a Trac off ligth and engine light intermittently come on. The engine light gave a thermostat code. Cleared the code and it came back 2 days later, need to have the code ran again but really dont think its my thermostat. Anyone else have this issue.

I have a 2012 TRD and my Trac off and Check Engine lights have been coming on intermittently for a few months. I bought a device to plug into the onboard computer and it read #3 cylinder misfire. Changed the plug and cylinder but light continue to come on. Mechanic has no idea why it continues to misfire.

Mine started this morning. Last night I drained the battery installing a light bar. Jumped the truck, and now I’ve got the lights too. I haven’t cleared them by disconnecting the battery yet.

I cleared the code but they came back.

It might have been a coincidence, but the thermostat went bad, stuck open. Replaced it and everything seems fine, no check engine light or trac control. On a side note the OEM thermostat is on something like a year back order. Maybe there will be a recall for these things.
