I would avoid Cerma treatment at all costs tbh. I got a two pack for myself and my neighbor, and we both ended up getting very bad piston slap a week later on an Golf R and a 160k mile honda pilot. It ran great and quieted down before that though, but then all hell broke loose and I had to just sell the car to the dealership at 70k miles as it was so loud and running rough that something felt like it was going to give, along with misfires on both of our vehicles. The pilot still sounds like shit but surprisingly is still running a bit under a year from then.

Thanks, I haven't used it yet. Yikes!

Did you follow the instruction-warm the engine, and put treatment in engine while running, rev to 1500-2000 rpm's for 4 minutes and drive it for 40+ miles. I have the directions in my hand. I'm in NO WAY DOUBTING YOU. I'm scared now, but just wanted to know.

Yep, mileage may vary it seems, but I have a suspicion it maybe just solidified and locked the piston rings? I also engine flushed twice to try and resolve it with no avail, and didn't take a look internally. Who knows, maybe just coincidence as iirc from the googling I did, either it did nothing or people said it did wonders. Could've been that we were just unlucky(or unlucky batch maybe?), but luckily for you, they offer free refunds anyway if you email them. I'd just try and engine flush(I've had good luck with BG and liquid moly flushes), Pennzoil ultra platinum(seems to have quieted my motor a good bit, and results from project farm seem to corroborate) , and an injector cleaner along with premium/higher octane gas. The gas for sure quiets down the ticking for me when I switch to 91 and run some Italian tune ups

My 2013 V6 Access cab had 6 miles on it when I bought it and it ticked loudly. I talked to the Service Manager and said they all tick. It definitely gets louder when it's cold outside. It's a combination for the fuel injector solenoids and spark plug coil packs. I just turn up the radio.

So the tick you all are talking about, Yes, I have that and I had to really listen for it which is good, BUT, there is an additional ticking, not knocking either. I can hear it in the cab WHEN I ACCELERATE(just emphasizing, not yelling). If I accelerate slowly below 1500 rpm's I don't hear it, but if I get above that I do.

I just put new manifold/cats on it. I had 3 bolts loose, one the nut head is stripped(I bought gear wrench extractor deep well sockets). I may just have to remove that and then tighten to spec with the new nut(10 tq, 45tq-half a turn 45tq). You could see where it was leaking on the one part of the flange from the loose bolt(I doubt I broke the flange, someone mentioned that earlier, it has more flange material than factory). Either it has other exhaust hardware loose, or the gasket is bad(cardboard/metal composite). Have brand new metal ones, but I couldn't find them @ the time, and I had a friend with a lift helping me, so I just used them.

Somewhere else someone said, it might be the pcv or the injectors? It is sucking gas(14-15 now, previously 18-20 after i put on my new man/cats).

So read the article from https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/v6-tacoma-clicking-noise.147048/ ,and any suggestions layem on me.
    Thanks,
    Brian
p.s. I also did the VSV clicking noise(youtube videos K Flo) with the washers........no good!

I'd go with the poster that said an exhaust manifold crack or leak. If you are pulling in fresh air it's going to throw off the computer as it changes the readings the o2 sensor wants. If the manifold bolts were that loose, the gasket is likely toast and needs replacing at the least, if the manifold is actually cracked, both it and the gasket needs replacement. One gasket, one time to tighten [and re-torque per instructions sometimes]. Replace the bolts, they are usually crap anyways after a few years and become prone to breakage.

Thanks and that makes PERFECT SENSE. SOME of the bolts are new, but I would like to put new studs and nuts, the best I can get. Ones that won't corrode SOOOO FAST! Suggestions?!
Also, how do I check for a cracked manifold? I only paid $160 on ebay a year ago as the P0430 code was burning a hole through my retina.

Here's a strange thing, the guys who helped me said, they thought I only had an exhaust leak in the first place, as I was not there the whole time when they were putting them on, but I did the passenger side. And the driver side was the one they thought was leaking originally and it's leaking again. I have put on 2 sets of upper 02 sensors as well. Thought I'd mention that and the last one's were in November 22'.

    Suggestions?

Check for a cracked exhaust manifold? Easy, remove it, inspect it, a crack tends to be pretty obvious. Now if you are buying aftermarket or even used, make sure the mating surface is flat, warping can happen, V-6's not so much, a straight 6, common. Never go cheap on the gaskets. Studs are better then bolts.
