Covid did NOT cause the removal of the tollbooth workers. It had been in the works way before Covid became an issue. I think it likely sped up the process but it was not the root cause.

Personally I think it's a very bad move to have eliminated most of those positions. At first glance it's easy to say those people were being paid to simply "sit on their ass" but whether you choose to admit it or not those people did serve a purpose. You now just lost valuable eyes at those locations when an Amber Alert is issued. Those people had to be at least moderately knowledgeable of the are they were working. There just went a resource of local knowledge for travelers of where a good place to eat was in the area or what hotels are best avoided. They were there in case a driver was having a medical emergency and unable to help themselves or possibly communicate that need for help. I'm fully in favor of cutting wasteful government spending but completely eliminating all of these positions has the potential to bite all of us in the ass.

Does it have the factory Rockford Fosgate system? Amanda's friend has a white 2015 Outlander and she beats the shit out of it. It only has like 81K miles, as in less than half of what my truck has, and it's already on its way to an early grave. Also, Mike texted me and informed me that my truck is ready!

Amanda actually thinks that my Tacoma rides better than her friend's Mitsubishi, and her friend's has an okay sound system, but not the Rockford Fosgate system. Obviously, what I've got in my truck blows a stock Mitsubishi system out of the water...

    :headbang:

As for the ride quality, what do you think of your Outlander's ride and handling versus that of a Tacoma?

Thankfully, today was the last day I could cancel the hotel in Maryland, and I did just that; I am also getting a full refund on the tickets for the Import Face-Off, and I reserved a hotel in Hershey instead. This is more about spending time with Amanda than anything else, but Hershey has both the chocolate factory and that big car museum, and we have time to do both! The plan after that is to meet my parents at my cousin's house in the Wilkes-Barre area on Sunday afternoon!

There's a drag race in addition to a car show, and apparently it is not safe to race when it's below fifty degrees...

Here it happened well before the world changed. And agreed with your thoughts re the other services.

I figured instead of paying people that MA could also require people on public assistance who were able bodied to work the booths instead.

See if this sounds good in your rig

I used to drag race and also pit crew for a friend who raced before and after having my own car. We ran Cecil County in early March. It's less about it being unsafe and more that they might not draw enough cars to fill a field and to make the payout worth racing. I looked at the forecast for Cecil County and Saturday shows a high of 44 so that's not even nice weather for an outdoor car show much less for drag racing.
