So, some observations from my road trip…

• Big Bend National Park is awesome
• People are assholes
• Daylight Saving Time Sucks. The sun is supposed to be up before I am
• LED headlights are awesome
• LED headlights suck when they are coming towards you
• People are mostly assholes
• Dogs are better traveling companions than humans
• Nobody has “America The Beautiful” or “The Star Spangled Banner” on their playlists and they call themselves ’Muricans
• People think being assholes is normal behavior
• The state of Texas has the best and cleanest roadside parks on earth
• The state of Texas has every mile of their highway system under construction
• A lot of assholes drive on the Texas highway system
• I’m too old and out of shape for long hikes
• Pink Floyd is amazing even when you’re not stoned
• It’s gets fucking hot in Texas
• Most people don’t like to be informed they are assholes. I thought they would want to know

I had the misfortune of being born there, and so Glad that my Dad moved us to Texas after my younger brother was born in 59. My Mom moved back there after my parents divorced in 76, and there was a place where She would send me to get "Shrimp" Sandwiches. I have to say that those Sandwiches alone, made the trips to Baltimore to Visit my Mom, Grandmother, and Cousins, worth it. I could never eat the soft shell crab sandwiches, only because the dam things were looking at you when you went to take a bite.
