Hey guy's! Next week I'm driving down to my parent's house and picking up my grandpa's 07 PreRunner. In typical grandpa style, it's only got 89,000 miles. He bought it back when I was in high school and I always thought it was the coolest! He passed away last year, and now I'm being given the truck. Can't think of a better way to honor him than take care of his truck. He never did anything to it, and I know I'll want to do some small things. I'm probably not going to do a lot, but know I'll want to do some things. Where do you guys suggest I start? What are the basic things that you've done to a 2nd Gen that you would recommend? Just looking for some inspiration!

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Nice and welcome to TW! I’d start with spark plugs and fluid changes

New here, can you share a little bit more about those things? I feel like I recall seeing some links about that, but don't remember off the top of my head.

You do you but I wouldn't do anything other than maintain it, like you say he did.

This forum makes up a minute portion of Tacoma ownership nationwide, so at risk of speaking an unpopular opinion on here: the coolest old Toyota trucks are the ones that are stock. Every time I see a 1st gen with aftermarket wheels I think to myself "that's a shame, it'd be better if they hadn't f***ed it up like that." That truck is a few short years away from being old.

Keep it clean, keep it lubricated, keep nice road tires on it. The thing already has the mojo!
