When you say “back on track” do you mean talking about a truck that doesn’t exist yet and a bunch of click bait articles and videos with made up info and photos? :D

    The RX350 uses an 8-speed, the RX350h uses a CVT, the RX500h uses a 6-speed.

    They won't.

While more Lexus models require 91 than Toyotas, not all do. The RX350 (V6) dropped from 91 to 87 in 2012, however the requirement for 91 is back for the 2023 RX350 and RX500h. The RX350h lists 87 as the minimum with a recommendation for 91.

    Not all LC300's get the 10-speed. 4.0L V6 (GRJ300 with the Dual VVT-i 1GR-FE) models still get the 6-speed AC60F.

They have a 6-speed for the transverse application. It would not be applicable for a longitudinal application like the Tacoma.

I would be very surprised not to see 10-speed options behind any new powertrain options in the next Tacoma. I would also not be surprised to see some 6-speed options (automatic and manual?) if any existing engines are carried forward.

It takes years to get a new chip plant up and running. It may start getting better next year (2024).

If Toyota sold these vehicle disguise/cover packages, but put “TRD” on it, and said it was “flexible trail armour”, people would buy it.

Judging by my experience with a 5th gen 4Runner, ride quality doesn't change with rear coils. There's however no axle wrap on hard launches. There's also no leaf pack to squeak when dirty.

Lifting a 4-link axle is also more involved, requiring upgraded track bar and control arms to correct the geometry after lifting.

Considering the amout of 1/2 tons Ram moves. Which I don't believe is a lot I would ne surprised to see Ram introduce another truck to their line up, but it's a possibility.

Since there's no 4th gen to look at.

I creep this thread every now and then. Figured I would contribute to the rumour mill

Randomly spoke with a guy the other day after complementing him on his Tacoma set up. He mentioned that his good friend who works at a local Toyota dealership up here in Canada has had a sneak peak at some of the details for the forth gen:
-Hybrid model will be available and have a 1.8L four cycle turbo engine
-Customers will be able to choose between the hybrid model engine and the current V6 power train set up
-No information on their being a manual for the 4th gen
-The engineers at Toyota are having trouble resolving issues around the new hybrid engine set up having difficulty warming up in colder weather after shorter trips. Apparently, the 1.8L has been failing to warm up to a healthy level due to its overall small size, which has created reliability issues for the motor

If this is old news, I am not sorry

Easy solution, when the engine is cold, disable all electric drive assist and flog the squirrels in the cage under the hood. :p

From what I have been hearing next gen Ranger will now be delayed until 2025, despite seeing that new gen Ranger Raptor on the line, doubt if it even had a powertrain in it. Not that this is any indication what Toyota will do with the 4th gen Tacoma, but I'd expect a delay in production if 4th gens were scheduled to roll out prior to 2025.
