    Hey Everyone
New guy on the forms here. This may sounds like a crazy question, but I am looking for a frame for a 2001 Tacoma extended cad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He’s saying you should just buy a ‘new’ truck (his) rather than a frame. It’s going to be hard to find a good one in Canada. You may troll CA and AZ and see if they’ll cut it in half and ship it to you - then weld it back together when it shows

    :anonymous:

it’s a lot of hard work but not impossible - you’d have to DIY it as a labor of love to make it worth doing though price wise

@Jakuku Pahwheenis just went through this and had a pretty detailed thread about it

And boy was I lucky @Tour991 had half a frame to cut and mail me, and a welder in the family to do the welding. Yeah it was tough and I wouldn’t want to do it again. But it was worth it. I got lazy and failed to update my thread on the process. Ended up updating the final progress in ‘What did you do to your tacoma today’.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I can only guess shipping into Canada would be a tad expensive .

Then just where the OP is located even more expensive.

In Canada can you legally build your own frame ?

Where in Canada? I believe there's a guy in New Lowell ON that's selling a frame off Kijiji. Not sure if it's an extended cab or dual cab but you can inquire.

    see post #5

by time you get around to finding one and monkeying with it, all, might be worth it just to find a new truck and part out what you have that is good.

There’s a guy not too far from where I live who travels and grabs up frames from the west coast. Last time I spoke to him it was around 5-6k for his frame and he would install it. Which I thought was a fair price but it’s been five years since I’ve talked to him.
