I'm looking at adding either of these to my truck, just need some outside thoughts. I don't need sliders, steps or running boards to help bounce off some rocks, no need help getting into the truck, I only want these for looks and cannot decide which look better and which look best on my ride. The OEM trail rails look great on the trucks I have seen in pics as well as these Armordillo RS looking sliders. Anyone having either care to share your thoughts. They are going on my truck posted. I like the fact the sliders are OEM as they may last longer than the Armordillos which look great just concerned of the material and finish. Looking at these two only. Had the predators before, just looking to change things up a little.

I'd recommend the more step-like option. Even if you don't use it to get in and out of your truck, you do have a rack which you can access more easily using the step, plus better door ding prevention. Plus the step-ish fake slider will protect better against slung rocks.

The fake slider "trail rail" does essentially nothing except cover up your pinch welds. Might as well have something that is at least conditionally useful.

    A few.
Ive had both. The running boards have some weight to them and look good but I didnt like having them in my way when entering and exiting. The other "Trail Rails" are made by N-fab and u should be able to find them for around $450. I got those just for looks.

Don't know anything about either; just came to say ensure you find some for configured for a long bed. I personally wouldn't pay that much when real sliders (used) could be had for that price. I tend to overbuild or purchase though, and if you truly have no need, the extra weight adds up.

I have a very similar set of "sliders" on my truck I got them from Avid Offroad. https://avidoffroad.com/site/product/tacoma-slider-steps/
I have had them on my truck for 6 years now. And the powder coating has held up amazingly. Just now starting to get some slight surface rust at the welds for the top plates.

If it's just for looks my vote is the predator steps. Plus, I would think they are easier to sell down the road when you're ready for something else.
