I use it to not run a Hitachi. I charge my Jackery power stations, which in turn power the iceco fridge. I found it very useful for that since it charge at the same speed as a wall outlet. This helps when moving between campsites and such. It can also charge my battery jumper pack.

Came in real handy while unloading into my storage unit last night. I love these clip-on lights w/ LED flood bulbs. 8F5B4E28-15C9-4F2F-8612-3BAE7824FBF8.jpg

The rear one not much I think an air mattress a few times many years ago. Like some others, I installed an ac outlet in my center console in the rear and I use it to power a laptop and charge Milwaukee batteries. If you plan to charge anything like a freezer or fridge I would go DC over AC. I am not confident that sucker will stay on and if the trucks are off will kill your battery fast.

That really doesn't sound hard; need to get one that seals but making barbacoa while on the trail sounds mighty nice.

I added two outlets to the center console, spaced so that I can recharge Nikon camera batteries and Eneloops. I've also used them to power/charge my laptops, power the Edgestar fridge in the back before I'd run a 12V outlet back there, power an LED flood light, run a coffee grinder and coffee maker and I'm sure some other stuff I'm forgetting.

Not even close. Compressor inrush starting current is min of 2x running. Even a 5a freezer would need 1.2KW to start.

I've plugged my camper in so it would run my 12v Fridge on 110 while charging the Goal Zero and a Gooloo power bank. I found out the hard way that pulling this much wattage with the 400w anytime mod and idling in stop and go traffic can cause your dash to light up like all those Christmas lights people were talking about up above. Shuts off ABS, tractions control, all kindsa stuff. After researching on TW, it sounds like if the computer sees too low of voltage for too long it'll go into some low voltage mode. Fixes itself by turning off ignition and restarting the truck. This happened repeatedly in stop and go traffic, but not once when cruising around town or hitting the freeway at normal speeds. My Goal Zero replacement only has a 500w power supply, so haven't used it since making that upgrade.

I ran a socket to the glove box and power my iPad from it while nav/driving. Christmas lights in the bed and my tire inflator is 110v.

It wouldn't keep up. Depletes charge faster than it can charge. Running Gaia maps.

I use the anytime mod to power my laptop while I am working from my mobile office… not near as therapeutic as the Hitachi.

I'm betting that's the fault of the 12v-USB adapter you are using, or maybe it's just the charge protocol on your iPad? The 120w available at the 12v port is far more than any iPad could handle. Either way though, you obviously solved your issue!

Yeah, mine keeps charging just fine while utilizing heavy-duty GPS flight apps, albeit a little slower than if it's off/idle. Definitely a subpar 12v adapter. Upgrade to one of the newer USB-C chargers, mine cost a few bucks and supplies 30-something watts between 2 ports. The iPad only draws 20w max IIRC

If you ever need a new one, I love this one. Worked great for me last year, so bought another for my wife, and one for each of my parents cars since they recently (finally) upgraded to decent phones that use USB-C. I thought the rainbow light thing on it would annoy me, but I never even notice it.
