Few people on the Harley forum have HK AR's. I asked them how they can pay $4 to $5K for a off the shelf AR.

I have a CMMG, DPMS, Spikes, and a PSA, never paid close to $1K for any of them new.

They told me I'd have to shoot one to understand. Only way that will ever happen is if someone lets me shoot theirs.

I've got a piston gun (not an HK) and have shot a couple of others including HKs; the recoil impulse is different (not enough to make any difference to me or anyone else I know who shoots) but it doesn't blow gas back in your face when shooting suppressed (which can be mitigated with proper gassing and a gas buster style charging handle) and, depending on the design, you can have a folding stock. In typical Teutonic fashion HK makes a good gun, but if I were buying a piston gun today it'd be a Sig for the folding stock.

Of course I drive an old 192hp Tacoma and not a 700hp Ford Raptor or Mercedes G-Wagen so what do I know.

Mostly stock, just getting it to my liking, just happy to have had the taco and now my 4Runner.
Use their lowers in plenty of builds, can honestly say even the complete anderson factory rifles are great deal packages for the money.

I've had 2 complete Anderson rifles, and both have run very well. Recently picked up a complete Anderson upper and again quality was there and it shoots very well. I used several lowers from them and they all functioned perfectly. They are not the best looking rifles or the most expensive, but they get the job done just the same.
