2016 SR with standard head unit will not recognize usb drive, but iphone plugged in works.

I had battery disconnected yesterday. Is there a separate fuse for the usb in the under the dash fuse panel?

I have tried pulling on the fuse box cover to remove it, but it doesn’t want to come off and I am afraid of pulling too hard and breaking something.

I have tried other thumb drives.

I’m not sure, but they worked yesterday and I have been using them for years.

I’m thinking that because the iphone works when plugged in and the usb doesn’t there must be a power issue that will not power the thumb drives but lets the iphone work because it is self powered. I know nothing of this kind of electronics and is just a guess.

If I can get the under dash fuse box open I hope I find a blown fuse feeding that power to the usb port.

Could be the drive just died, I had 1 last week that wouldn't work tried to reformat it and it would show up for a second the it would stop working . There cheap , so just make sure it's not over 8 gig or it won't be recognized.

You said you tried other ones, but have you tested them in a computer? Just to make sure? Thumb drives have a very limited life and fail *all the time* ... go to Best Buy and pick up a new one before you go through other debugging steps.

    Yes, they worked other places.

I have reentered the question to the audio section.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will keep looking.
