Has anyone swap a 12-15 jbl head unit in an 09 jbl head unit? I don’t want to go the aftermarket head unit route at all. i want to keep the truck as stock looking inside. If someone has done it could i get a link to the threads or any info

This is a good place to start, but honestly, you just need to spend your own time searching rather than asking for it to be spoon fed.

There are a handful of threads on this topic, get ready to spend some time reading. And, if you intend on tackling the project you'll need to be familiar and comfortable with basic automotive wiring and wiring diagrams.

There are differences between JBL and non-JBL and there are minor differences in some years too (e.g. not all 05-11 are the same and not all 12-15 are the same). You'll want to compare the back of your radio with the back of the radio you intend to install, then go thru the wiring diagrams to see what needs to go where and then build your own harness.

Here's a little info from when I did the swap. I had to buy multiple different adapter harness and then customize them to accomplish what I needed. I wanted it 100% plug and play so it could be easily removed just like stock.
