Sticky Shifter Part Identification?

    My shifter started getting "sticky" in the last month or so. Sometimes I have to maneuver to get into the correct gear (selected gear doesn't light up on instrument panel). I found a video a while back that suggested spraying the linkage in image below with wd-40 or white lithium grease for a quick fix. This does indeed make the shifting a little better, but I would like a permanent solution.

    I was trying to find the part number / name of part but couldn't figure it out. It is on the drivers side of transmission. I was thinking maybe it is this, but not 100% sure.

    Your issue is more likely the Park neutral Safety Switch on the opposite side of the transmission.

    More likely the switch is corroded inside. Known issue.

    Just had this done under my extended warranty on my 2016 when I took my truck in for the corrosion prevention campaign.
    The shifter feels good again, I hope it's not a recuring issue. I only have 43000 miles on my truck.
