Lots of threads lately? yep

Only reason people make YT vids is for money? nope - my experience is that watching many of the most successful YT personalities outside of Tacoma content, they all say the same things; the money was cool at a point in time, but to be fulfilled and film the content they actually want to film (sometimes getting channel strikes in the process), they start businesses outside of YT or make partnerships with other businesses to sustain their passion for creating videos.

Which YT Tacoma personality is best? too subjective - I suppose the one with most subs wins, whether we like them or not

Does sex still sell? Absolutely - as does video quality; some of the most informative vids are the shitty ones shot on pocket potatoes, but i'll click off in a heartbeat if its not 1080p and landscape.

I guess one of my points was the clickbait titles. Examples from typing "Toyota Tacoma into the search bar:



These are three quick examples garnering 1.5M views of, in my opinion, clickbait titles. This was on the 1st page of search! I didn't even have to look. Why use the word "pissed" or "Bad" or "Don't do it" unless you want to start with controversy and contention that will make people who like and don't like the Tacoma, click on the video?
To me, this is bullshit.

 

Oh its absolutely clickbait and most definitely intended to gain views. Even the "good ones" use clickbait titles and thumbnails. The main point I was suggesting is that most (even the ones who actually make money FROM Youtube via ads) don't do it for the money. I think simply put, people like the attention. Sure, clickbait can be annoying, but its all just a business model to be a successful creator, and it absolutely works. At the end of the day, personality wins over informative. Sure Youtube is a successful tool for information, but its sole intent is to provide entertainment.

 

I suppose just like here. There are some amazing, very informative and helpful folks on here. I've learned a ton here along with some Tacoma YT videos. But just like YT there can be a lot of junk here as well. Perspective.

 

If anyone is going to those sites for good Tacoma information they are going to the wrong place.

I'll take it a step further and say, there are people who aren't happy in this world.

Negativity is in their personality.

Thread titles on TW is definitely something I consider before clicking on it. (Is that click baiting?) lol

Some people are good in front of the camera.

Have you ever taken a speech class (college level) where you have to record yourself for a graded project?

Some people have a fear of public speaking...there's that too.

Not saying there aren't bad actors out there who are good at being in front of the camera.
