    Hey everyone!

I have a new 2023 Tacoma TRD Off-road. It has the mediocre factory front skid plate.

I'm looking for recommendations for a full set of skid plates, hopefully that cover the gas tank and catalytic converter as well (theft prevention). I'm pretty new to the taco world and would prefer to buy a decent set that is bolt on and doesn't require any modification/frame drilling.

    Thanks for the recommendations!

I just purchased an RCI front, but not transmission/transfercase/diff because it gets pricey. I purchased steel for "hammer out damage" but others prefer aluminum for weight.

Tacomas have a low-hanging crossover exhaust that many will remediate with "high-clearance" before buying a transfercase plate because there are different plates for original-exhaust/modified-exhaust.

I am currently dealing with the crossover exhaust pipes, trying not to jump off the cost-cliff. There are good non-rusting kits for $700, but some have found local muffler shops who change it for less. It is for you to decide if you fix that early or later.

Sup, first of all welcome! I know you’re new and you might not know this but the search engine in the page does not work wonders. I highly encourage you to go to Google and type what you’re looking for followed by tacomaworld, you will get plenty of material you’ll see. This is a thread started last week pertaining to the same topic.

Follow-up. A shop in my town recommended by a TW person can re-route the exhaust. Said it is $110 or $140, depending on existence of Y-pipe. Worth my $$.

If you want to re-route the exhaust, post is the state-specific forums to ask for local muffler shops.
