Its been 22 days since my acl surgery. Finally had a nice day to get outside and do some things with the truck. I touched up the right fender from the bozos at the dealer and the tailgate. I also installed seat risers, drawer for the cubby and blockers for the license plate.

Got the new Rigid D-SS spots as ditch lights (Amber Pro Series which is the new part). Very cool product, looks awesome and will work great illuminating off-road environments at night. Plus, adds a cool look to the truck. What I really like about the D-SS is that they are the perfect ditch light because of their side emitters. I don’t like the look of lights that only shine forward being angled 45° to hit the ditches. These can be straight and offer a ton of forward light and lots of side light, nearly a full 180° spread.

Don’t have them wired up yet but I got a switch panel off eBay that replaces the stock left switch panel and has room for all the stock switches at the bottom and a row of 5 short switches on top. Basically, 3 additional locations compared to stock.

    Edited to add night pics.

Hope not too off topic but based on my aforementioned morning… anyone know what direction the spare tire points when putting it back up under the truck? Never payed attention before.

How you have it. You want the backside (deep) to be the side the hoist is pulling on.

When I was stationed on her, it was in Yokosuka Japan.
    Right now?
About 4500 feet down just north of Hawaii.
No more FFG's are currently in service in the Navy.

That's the correct position from factory. However, I flipped them around on all 3 Tacoma's I've owned so I can get to the valve stem. Never had any issue.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Not really what I did to the truck so much as a neat little tip that some of you might not have thought of and might appreciate. I took the useless safety information out of the little clear holder and put my insurance and registration in it instead so that way if I ever get pulled over I know exactly where it is and don't have to be digging around for it.

Here’s a cheap mod which I did today. Ordered some of these and had some lug nuts laying around and boom it worked. My x-bull traction boards are now on my cbi overland rack.

Just post that on Instagram. Someone will be around to fill it with ramen noodles. Looks like the 2x4s in there didn’t work out so well.
