It all started with a 1987 black Toyota 4x4 regular cab with a manual transmission bought used in 1990. I think this was before Tacoma was even a thing. It had the roll and brush bars with lights. The previous owners said the dealer sold it as "Black Thunder", though I never bothered to research that claim.

Sold it to get an extended cab in 1999. The new one was a black 4x4 MT and this one was a called Tacoma.

Next was a 2015 after someone stopped short on an entrance ramp while I was driving the 1999. Fortunately my local dealer had a black 4x4 access cab TRD OR on the lot but I had to switch to an AT.

Then last month, my son's car wouldn't pass inspection. He now has the 2015 and I picked up a 2023 TRD OR access cab in (can you guess) black. It was hard to find. The only one I could find nearby was at a dealer 90 miles from my home.

Then I found this forum and the 3rd Gen Mod thread. My wife is very afraid. Looking forward to many years with this one. (Or at least until my daughter needs a vehicle in about 4 years.)
