Not a single bite all afternoon yesterday but I'm not complaining about it.

 

But where's the pup at? We need the pup pictures!!! Lol

 

The water is too cold to take her. I knew I was gonna be there for a couple hours. She would've been in the river the whole time. She's still recovering from helping me split wood the day before lol.

Ugh, yeah that is no good...I did notice how wide the access points to the construction area are the other day while on the beltway.

I assumed they were that wide to allow the workers to merge on/off the highway for thier shifts?

 

Howdy. Been a few years since i was active on TW, but just got back into another Tacoma again. 2013 access cab, v6 4x4.

 

Hey welcome back Matthew been a while ,lot of new people on here since you were last on .

 

I don’t drive 695 often but they have been working on that section for years I don’t understand what’s taking so long .That being said I feel for the families of deceased.

 

I believe it's that way for workers to get in and out as well as dump trucks and maybe concrete trucks when the project gets that far.

I was looking at it last week and thinking it looked dangerous. There are a few spots where one side of the highway is higher than the otherside and if a vehicle went over the wall it would fall on who or what ever is on the other side. Looks like the road is level on both side in the section where this crash occurred.

I believe this work zone went up in the fall this is closer to I70, and has something to do with work on I70 itself and possibly the ramps in that area. No idea what exactly is going on on the 695 portion. There was another work zone that is very close, and I would call the same section of the betway. That zone was closer to Frederick road, and that was a new Frederick road overpass, ramps and widening. I think it was two seperate projects where one was completed and the other one started with in a few months time, maybe less. Still the same spot and never ending IMO.

Yes it's a complete tragedy and my thoughts are definitely with the workers. I can't recall a vehicle accident with this number of fatalities in recent time. I hope the deceased didn't see it coming given the outcome.

That section is actually a portion that has the staggered lanes and not level. The crash happened on the lower side of the original center dividing wall.
