So my gas cap has always had the typical spring-loaded single “click” upon tightening. Lately, it’s still spring loaded, but I don’t get the click anymore no matter how tight I twist it, within reason without hulking it on there of course.

I don’t have any codes or CEL. Wondering if this is indicative of a pending leak or something I can put in the “worry about it later” bin?

Sounds like the cam mech inside the cap has broken. I'd look for a new one. It should be a fairly inexpensive part to find on the interwebs somewhere.

Replace the cap if it worries you.

Thanks, I’m not necessarily worried about it. It seems to be tightening and sealing just fine. More of a curiosity/just-checking thing. The “stock part not working as it should” tends to poke at my brain no matter how trivial. Lol.
