NM Motor sports is proud to now offer the NM v2.5 shifter fully adjustable shifter to the 2nd Tacoma market. We're opening preorders for 4 weeks, from Mar 24 2023 until Apr 21 2023. The discounted preorder price will only be available during this time at 330 cad/240 usd
I have been making this shifter and improving on it for a long time since 2008 and on for the Toyota Supra r154 and w58 and now I am happy to bring it to the Tacoma market

This shifter is like nothing anything els on the market for the toyota tacoma, just imaging putting your shifter stick were ever you want it for any seating position with 80% reduction in throw and solid click gate like feel to give you great confidence when selecting your gear. never have to worry about snapping the lower ball off by adding on an addon or bolts falling into the transmission and trying to source bushing for when you wanna do a re fresh like some others on the market.

Hey Nash, I remember you well from SupraMania.

Question- 1- what’s done to your truck, sounds like it moves pretty good…

2- what’s the amount NVH added to the interior? I like the adjustable style, but in the end my Tacoma is the family hauler for vacations and such. I’d imagine some extra NVH with a solid style stick/ no damping like stock or TRD?

Definitely supercharged, just wondering what else. Sounds quick.

Edit: I see you said low noise, I’m intrigued…

the tacoma one suffers from vibration since the stick is longer vs the r154 being not as loud and just the way the r60 trans is so i added in dampener that stops vibration with a solid ball like the trd ones ect

as for what I have done is mag super charger one does size in pully to work with oem tune, urd equal headers, valt intake, equal y made by me with 2 vibrant glass pack's 2.25 to 3 inch out back with hooker aerochamber and hp tuners on trd tune and aem fuel pump 375 hp 375 torq

I don't think it does but I might be able to make it happen i have a feeling it's the same as the first gen tacoma if you can find me pick's of the shifter and what not i might be able to swap out a spacer

Slick, looks neat. Thanks for the update.

I’m curious about the ability to shift quickly compared to, say, the TRD shifter. I believe that the TRD is 30% reduction in throw, yours is at 80%.

I’m wondering if the potential for extra effort on an 80% reduction becomes the obstacle in fast shifts compared to a potentially less leveraged 30% allowing a faster shift due to less effort.

Wish I could do a side by side comparison.

Trd has a taller shifter mine is abit shorter and I have a taller base so makes it about 80% I don't even move my elbow in the video and can shift 1st 2nd 3rd 4th with out moving my hand much. but you can run it longer but you will have to buy 1/2 round stock and the throw will increase and get lighter in throw and you can move the knuckle around for best leverage for you driving position, long armed, short armed short legs long legs ect or after market seat's

as for shifting fast you can be alot faster on a good day for shifting what holds me back is the unresponsive drive by wire or high rpm/speed of rpm climbing were the synchros in transmission take time to line up and mostly first to second all other seam to be fast since the rpm climb is slower if you can nail the laggy throttle and inticipate it with you clutch foot and don't fully lift off the clutch it's dang fast again good day bad day for shifting fast lol

i do have an idea for a shorter throw clutch pedale with linkage..... not a pedal stop since pedal stops don't allow full spring force of the diaphragm when you dump the clutch

i hope this answers some of your question's I am a mechanic/fab guy by trade

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
To add- HPTuner can address the rev hang. I have not experimented. I believe some rev hang is desired, just not at the factory level.

I've had the rev hang mostly deleted for a few years now and Hptuners is worth it for that alone.

Also very interested in this shifter.

@NashMan is there any wear items or maintenance other than the bushings that are the same ones Toyota uses?

correct just oem bushings and there is nothing to ware out because there is no threading on the knuckle so if you break/stretch/strip any thing the fasteners all can be found at a local auto parts store.

After some further research this shifter can be used on a r155 5 speed trans but I need to test hight spacer installed to see how close it is to the body of the truck. I can 3rd print a hallow spacer to test fit and then work out a very good deal a shifter for helping me

I wish I would have seen this about 2 weeks ago. I just got a urd short shifter but I think this would work better for my situation. I'm trying to fit triple shifters in with the transmission shifter. I really like how adjustable this is. I will keep this in mind if I can't make what I have work well.

ya I seen videos of people trying to make them fit, this was one of the reason's on making them and that they would appeal to 4x4 people as well
