Was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for aftermarket tail lights on a 2019 tacoma limited. I’ve heard of many people having issues with fuses being blow and not being able to start their truck. Is there any reputable lights out there or a work around with the fuse issue?

There is always a risk with any modification.

Personally I am not interested in aftermarket taillamps... I like the factory ones. I do prefer and amber turn though... so I just installed the VLED conversion kit. I am very happy with it so far. They are also 15% off right now.

Honestly might be the smart decision to stick to something along those lines. Appreciate the feedback.

I went with the Meso stage 1 kit in my OEM tails. Like VLEDs. I figure it’s cheaper to replace the OEM housing and swap the kit rather than replace a whole assembly.

Thanks for sharing, since everyone is out of the Meso's kit except TacomaBeast I decided to wait for Meso to get them back in stock. Until I saw your post. I think I will order these, did you get the resisters? Looks like a nice kit and which kit did you use? I like the $150 kit.

Definitely would also recommend to just keep the stock tail lamps and do a VLEDS conversion kit.

Ordered the kit and resistors, the kit is out of stock until 3/30 so I will have to wait. Looks like a cleaner install, better lights and overall a better product than Mesos kit. I'm waiting for a set of the new OEM Trail Rails from Sparks Toyota to arrive next week so hopefully it will all come in soon. I also already have the 2018 Pro tail lights so this will be a nice touch.

I purchased the entry level kit. It is easy to install, took me 10 minutes.
As for hyperflash, I had planned on ordering the resistors but forgot. I do get hyperflash randomly when I am in reverse and have my signal on. People say they never have that combo of reverse and turn, but any time I am parallel parking, I use both. I parallel park in front of my house so for me, daily...
Since they have the sale going on, I purchased the resistors and some of thier LED exterior light bars for bed lighting... those are really nice quality too.

I’ve been very happy with the VLED tail light kit. I got the resistors and installed them at the same time.

Got these from Extreme terrain, all plug and play . I like them because they are nice and bright because I work evenings and it catches the eye of other drivers that maybe goofing off. I just had to add an led reverse light.

OEM + VLED conversion for the win. They're on 15% off right now. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/vtails-turn-reverse-switchback.795807/

Personally, I hate the look of any aftermarket tail light out available for the 3rd gens. The Meso x Morimoto tails look good but they have issues with broken tabs, condensation, and because of how the lights are configured, doesn't display brake light when signaling (your other tail light will still light up when braking though, but if you ever ran into a situation where you needed to break with your hazards on..)

That's the kit I bought, went ahead and got the resisters. Got an email saying I will have them on Monday and they were shipping out today, sweet. Been waiting on Meso but its always out stock.

I too will be going the VLED route with stock tails. The Amber turn signal is a must for me! I would have gone with Meso X Morimoto taillights, as that's the only one (to my eyes) that looks OEM+ and has Amber turn signals. However, lately their reliability appears to be questionable (MESO X MORIMOTO Full LED Tail lights | Page 103 | Tacoma World).

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
If and when I do mine it'll be the VLED basic kit. I haven't seen any aftermarket housings I like.

    Those are nice… Pricey though.

Yeah, never been a fan of red turn signals, so much harder to see.

Do you have the ones with the snazzy start-up routine? I've been looking at those. Are they bright enough during the day?
