TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I’ll start with pulling the covers and looking at an adjustment before replacing. Start with getting it exposed, Wasn’t sure how involved it would get. Appreciate the info, thanks

 

This will be obvious once the valve covers are off: You can check clearance without removing cams, but if it’s out of spec, you have to pull cam, measure the bucket, and then order a new one based on your measurements.

 

Welp, RIP Tundra. Hit and run driver while it was parked in front of my house. And I NEVER leave it out there. Except my driveway was full. Took the truck up to snowboard today and buddy left his vehicle in my full driveway. Oh ya, buddy broke his collar bone on the first run today so we came back early

It only had 9500 miles on the truck! We weren't even done tuning the s/c yet, that and the 22" TRD FORGED rims were only on for a month!

You can hear the collision about 9 seconds in, then the white box truck just drives off a few seconds later. Wish my front doorbell cam was working! Some neighbors caught it so hopefully get some better vid of crash

That is correct. Mated to AEM 320 fuel pump out of the URD kit. Sitting in a LRA tank cuz gas stations out here have some mileage between them.

My brother's car once got rear ended while parked in front of our house and moved over 15 feet before the driver of the semi stopped. He was, you guessed it, on his phone, trying to find directions to where he needed to be.

These people are driving murder machines and they can't just stop to park to get the information they need before moving again? I don't understand it.

I'm glad you are fine, but the amount of work you put in considering that you didn't even get to enjoy the payoff, stings.

I guess the upside is that you had the first Tundra X-Runner and you can also have the 2nd?

 

I like this idea maybe with a smaller hole for the hose. I had always questioned how well the bucket would remain filled when upgrading since only some of the buckets seem to have an inlet flapper on the bottom and not others. That said I have a non-flapper bucket and an AEM 340 and I have never had fuel starvation.(I log fuel pressure) I wouldn't recommending running the tank down like you can with stock though..
