The Body Shop should have taken your hood off to paint and repair it. They obviously left it on and the sander hit your fender.

Yeah… clearly. They did lazy, sloppy work imo. I was pretty frustrated. They left tons of tape residue and polish marks on it when I picked it up. Im sure the paint will clean up and be pretty unnoticeable once I detail it and get the paint corrected and dialed in

It was detail day. I found a local guy to help me out and wet sand all of the dirt out of the hood and fender. And let me tell ya, he freaking knocked it out of the park! he spent 3 hours wet sanding, compounding, and polishing on the hood and fender and it turned out. Its not perfect, never will be but there were thousands of little dirt nibs all over the hood and fender. he couldnt get to the edges and seams, but basically all of the nibs on the flat portions of the panels are gone. The truck looks like it should have when it left the body shop. Not half assed like I received. I would definitely recommend Riley @getdetailedbend for anyone who needs detail work. Ill wax and finish the rest of the truck in a month or so when its finally gassed out and ready.

lol, not quite. Its a 2ft truck. It is however long overdue for a full correction. But Ill have some time to spend in the garage in the next few weeks. Same with the runner. I still need to wait a month or so before I can wax the taco. Paint has to finishing curing and gassing

I fucked up. I pulled into the garage on Monday after work and got too far over and hit a bike. Handle bar went right into my passenger fender. Creased it pretty good. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck me.

I found a solid PDR guy to come out and work the dent mostly out. It was creased pretty sharp and they did a solid job. There is still some rippling and texture in the metal but you’ve gotta know what you’re looking for. I’m still pretty annoyed with myself

@4xThad I took the passenger side mirror off by hitting the wall backing out of my garage. After pulling in and out of my garage a million times with no challenges. I know how you feel.

Installed my 650s today. A lot less preload, better ride(which I'll attribute to revalving) and same ride height.

So frustrating. The “dent” is so unnoticeable now, but I know it’s there and I know how it happened. Bummed

Good to know. I feel like I need to get a bumper or a winch and low pro bumper/hidden winch plate to justify stepping up to 650#

Its finally looking like spring around here! figured it be a good time to wash the truck and the runner. First truck wash post paint work. Wet sanding did wonders and the shit looks great after a bath. I did a bit of painting on my sliders- they were chipping and rusting a bit. I also detailed the runner and got it shined up good. Actually the first real wash since we bought it. The blizzard pearl is really sharp. The runner totally reminds me of my old tundra. They are both loaded out and 4.0 and 4.7 rev similarly, then theres the whole shined up white truck thing with black wheels and meaty tires. back window goes down and the sunroof is super nice. I kinda love the runner. def makes me miss my tundra even more. Still waiting a few more weeks to clay, cut, polish, and wax the taco. I want the paint to harden for a few more weeks. see below:

Today was maintenance day. I’m about to roll 30k so it was time for an oil change, F/R diff, T case service, grease the ball joints, and a tire rotation. All of air filters looked good. The oil and rear diff were cake walks, the front diff was such a PITA. The idiot at the parts store sold me on this little ball pump to pump the fluid in and boy was he wrong. That shit didn’t do dick. It took forever and I had to call @betterbuckleup to see what he had done in the past. Pretty much to get some pro tips. I ended up running to harbor freight to pick up a hand pump to pump the fluid in the front end. It worked way better.

I’m gonna try and return that bullshit ball pump tomorrow. What a joke. Anyway, trucks good to go for summer!

Finally found some time for a trip! We headed to the coast for the weekend to hit the beach/river/and just hangout! Would definitely go back, but next time with paddle boards and Id probably try to disperse camp on the sand. Anyway, we hit the beach both days, i ripped around on the sand Saturday and we explored Florence Oregon on Saturday morning. it was a good trip. might try and come back in the fall! Here are some photos.
