I do not know ... someone said they were on the truck so someone had the authority. Question was asked what they are so I answered.

Brand new and you only drove it 170 miles the first two days? That’s barely a test drive! We took my 2017 off the lot on August 18, loaded it up and drove it almost 1000 miles from So Cal to north of Boise, Idaho in two days to see the eclipse. Then we took the long way home after that along the coast from Washington back to So Cal. I logged about 3500 miles the first week with the new OR. And it was a great way to get to know each other.

I hope you get a chance to go on a proper road trip with your brand new truck soon, both of you deserve it and you’ll really like it.

Congrats, nice truck! Agree with your assessment.

Last Toyota truck I had was a brand new 4X4 in 1992. Drove it for 14 years. That was the last reference I had to Toyota trucks. Bought my 2020 sight unseen over the phone. Knew what I was getting into and totally love the truck. The new for 2020 MY was the power adjustable seat. This was the clincher. This now meant my wife could comfortably, be able to drive it too. At 5'-11" I have to get in the truck a certain way to avoid hitting my head.

    No complaints or regrets!

    Enjoy the new ride.

And yes this place can be a echo chamber of doom at times. This truck is not for everyone. However, there are some awesome, knowledgeable folks on here.

Thank you! I was at around 38K out the door, ballpark. I have a 4x4, albeit without Fox shocks and some other things that would make people who do a lot of offroading very happy. I LOVE the TRDs too, but I never offroad and I couldn't see spending that much more. Curious marketing strategy with Tacomas. SR up all have auto high-beams, auto cruise control and almost all the niceties the rest have. The Tacoma Sport was, I believe, the next model "up" as people put it. It was around $7,000 more than the SR5. I think "up" is a bit of a misnomer though - maybe "specialized" is a better way to put it. If you're a serious offroader, of course you want to splurge a bit and get maybe up to the TRD Pro. But it's a LARGE amount of money. Funny, as I get older and actually have money....the more hesitant I am to spend it!

Yeah, go figure! It was an installed option on the truck I saw coming into the dealer through their allocation. Didn't even know what it was, but it's freaking awesome. It illuminates when you walk up to the truck and it senses the fob. Also lights up when you unlock, open the door, etc... I'll try to take a picture of it when it's dark tonight. I would have never paid for it, not knowing what it was, but I certainly would now. Bright white light under the truck and supposedly intended to light up underneath so you can see puddles/mud, etc... so you don't step in it.

It has nothing short of exceeded my expectations for refinement. You will LOVE IT and best wishes for a quick shipment to you. I got lucky....mine was built 23 Feb and I was driving it two days ago.

That, right there. I've had a few vehicles with the computer controlled trans, (Starting from the mid 90's) and it takes a few hundred miles... Maybe a little less... For the computer to learn how you drive.
When I first got my truck, I was very easy on it... Especially because it was a brand new engine... But I have zero complaints with how it shifts now.
Now at 35K miles... Completely happy.

When and IF you want there is a software update that can supposedly improve the shifting-performance points ... KDMax (search online for a local provider). But that is a very big IF.

Interesting. I'm curious which aftermarket company they went with.

2023 Tacoma TRD Sport DC LB
I just purchased a 2023 TRD Sport DC LB. I currently have 950 miles on the truck. I have found a lot of useful information on this forum. I did research all of the mid size trucks before I made the decision to purchase the Tacoma. I read about the transmission issues and front seat comfort problems some have experienced. I really don't have any problems with the transmission, as I just switch the ECT button on. I have finally found the sweet spot for the position of the front seat. I really love the overall look of the Tacoma. Simple, dependable, reliable and well tested. And by the way, the LED headlights are awesome!
