Hey guys, new to the group so thank you. I have a new to me 06 4x4 Tacoma and I am getting a strange noise coming from the front end. Best I can describe it is a hum that you can hear and feel in the steering wheel around 45-50 mph. We put a 3 inch lift on the truck and it didn’t make any noise (that I’m aware of) before the lift. Did the recommended diff drop with no issues. We just got done changing both front wheel bearing assemblies and that wasn’t the culprit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Hello, it was one with the blocks on top on the struts and on the leaf springs. Alignment just got done by the dealership and checked out with no issues. No clue!

so you had no issues prior, then you had issues right after lift? Did you do the installation? Are you in specs?

check this out so you’re aware of the possibilities of things that could go wrong.

Not sure if this is the same as the 3rd gens but on the 3rd gen this is usually fixed by replacing the needle bearing on the front diff. A great way to know if this is the issue is to put the truck in 4hi, if the noise you’re hearing goes away then the needle bearing is the culprit

Yup, specially when you go 3” with just a bunch of preload.
