2023 TRD Sport Premium Lunar Rock
Hello, nice forum you got here. I figured I'd search out a Tacoma community online to make sure I've got all the info I need for my new truck. One of my local dealerships had a 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport Premium on order in Lunar Rock. Price was surprisingly reasonable, which is a good thing since they really don't budge! Just added in a few accessories, but the Premium package is pretty well-equipped.

I typically am a "car guy" from a driving dynamics perspective, I'm coming from an Acura TLX, but I'm also an outdoorsy guy. Boating/fishing, camping, hunting, biking forest trails, etc. I'm tired of stealing my wife's Explorer for all my outdoors activities (and she's not a fan of dead critters in the back!). Full sized trucks are just too much for me but I definitely wanted a combination of good winter/snow performance (Manitoba here), good off-road performance, good towing capacity and stability, and a box with enough room to haul tools, building materials, camping supplies, and the odd dump run. I have kiddos (15m, 10f) so the double cab was a must.

The date isn't confirmed yet but it's looking like first week of June. Can't wait to hitch up the boat or find some trails. I've already put together a bit of a toolkit/recovery kit with some toolbox leftovers,

I have 7,000 miles on my ‘23 SR I got in January. I’m coming from a Civic Sport with a 6-speed. The change was pretty dramatic, but equally fun. I hope you like your Tacoma as much as I like mine. I went with the less-is-more approach with the SR, but I don’t think there’s a bad package in the lineup. Congratulations!

    Welcome & Congrats!

I had to look up the Package. What sort of accessories did you add?

TRD Premium Sport Package (Access Cab)—includes heated front seats, auto headlights, Premium Audio, Dynamic Navigation * with 3-year trial, * Remote Connect * with 1-year trial, * Destination Assist * with 1-year trial, * and Service Connect * with 10-year trial *

If you're OK with halogen headlights, then opting for OEM LEDs for $480 is something to consider. (I paid $640/per & bought Dave Easa Harness)

Other things not included that I upgraded were OEM:

    LED Headlights
    Bed Lights
    Bed Mat
    TRD Skid
    Tailgate Lock
    Mud Guards
    TRD Gear Shifter

I bought an aftermarket vintage grill that works with the TSS. The OEM is quite expensive if you don't ask for it beforehand. It comes with the TRD Lift which is easier to acquire than after purchase.

There are heated seats in your truck (I'm jelly). I use AppleCarPlay for NAV with my iPhone.

Lots of fun in store for you when you take your Sport home!

Just my two cents worth (0.015 US) but I would stay with the Halogen headlights in Manitoba.

I have family near Winkler, and am familiar with prairie blizzards. Having the halogen heat to melt blowing snow off your lights is very welcome.

Not a lot of members here wake up to weather reports calling for a high of minus 30, hence the popularity of LEDs.

Switching the low beam bulbs to H9 is worthwhile, search the forums for instructions.
