Having done... quite a bit of driving with just the aid of my trusty surefire m952v on IR mode, I'd say anything short of normal road speeds can be handled under most night conditions without much active ir.

And remember, if its helping you to see, it's also helping you be seen. Like tracers, ir lights worl two ways.

Just got some White Phosphorus and taping my Surefire to the bumper was ridiculous but also kinda worked. I was considering a surplus setup from DRMO but I remembered Baja actually made a legit one.

Yes, I have some squadron pro IR, I did a video about it not to long ago https://youtu.be/fB-zuOAC-EA hope it helps. They suck If they are mounted anywhere on the hood or ditch lights area. Too much hood splash. I have them mounted on top of my roof rack, one far out and down for blacked out desert driving with nods. Makes varmit hunting at night fun.

A buddy has the 850s on his 4 runner and it bad ass. I’m going to get (2) Baja 850s for my taco in the near future. I have to find a good mounting location in grill first.

I’d get the 940s if you can. Don’t mount them low, mount high, like roof rack, a pillar etc. or in your grill. If you are running aftermarket bumper could use some strong magnets seen that done a few ones, actually I’m using really strong magnets for my rock lights .

Thanks Gents. I'm using a surplus IR humvee light I found locally and have it connected to my portable power bank. Been fun playing around with it but keep9ing my eyes open.

Im about to pull the trigger on the Tomar TRX-35C-IR-1B. I really like how its modular with white spot/flood, IR spot/flood, and amber all-in-one. Also has flashing amber and dimmer control wire. The control wiring should be interesting to figure out...

    red/white - supply feed
    orange - white
    blue - IR
    brown - amber
    brown/white - amber warning
    green - dim

It sounds impressive, but beware. Every other lighting (or other) product I've ever encountered that promises to be everything to everybody - rarely does. All season tires (which are merely average in all seasons), one size fits all anything (which really fits no one), all in one car waxes (which really do nothing well) and universal anything come to mind pretty easily.
