    Hey yall,

Been lurking here for a few weeks prior to getting my first Tacoma and I figured it's only appropriate to create an account and say hello.

My journey with Toyota trucks started when I bought my 1988 Pickup about 5 years ago. Unfortunately after many attempts to get the wife to love it and learn to drive manual it just wasn't happening. She was too intimidated by it and I poured a lot of cash into it to keep it running, motor was great but everything else was on its way out. It needed new brake lines, new water pump, new bed, radiator, the list just goes on. I cut my losses short and I finally sold it. A week later I felt a big void in my soul. I was without a truck and weeping. I finally found a reasonable dealership in OH and got the Tacoma I wanted. I just picked her up 2 days ago and drove her down to NC.

Got the base model 2023 SR, Extended Cab, 6ft bed, 4x4 and an i4 with the TRD steps as an addon. It's going to be our daily driver, mostly highway usage and getting around town, hauling a light trailer for trash and the usual meterial transport from homedepot. I am absolutely madly in love with it. It is everything I wanted and then some.

    Out with the old:

    ..and in with the new!

Ended up getting 265/65R17's with the SCS SR8 17x8.5 wheels. Getting it all installed this weekend!

I plan on getting a line-x treatment on the bed and a LEER topper. And the only other item on my list is the headlights. Unfortunately the SR/SR5 got the short end of the stick there, so that will be another thing I have to research down the road.

Very glad to be here and I cannot wait to embark on this journey. I plan on keeping this truck for good so I am taking my time and savoring every moment.
