I have a bone-stock 2023 SR 6ft bed and a set of 17x8.5 SR8 wheels. I use my truck 99% as a daily driver on surface roads and highway driving. At this time I don't have any need for trail/offroad tires but I am able to find a lot of highway tires for the size. My only issue is fitment. Is there a tire I can buy today that fits on these rims without any issues of fitment or rubbing? Would a 255 tire work? It seems that 265 and above requires some sort of a modification whether its lifting, fender modification or messing with the wheel well. To be frank with you, I am just not ready to spend that kind of loot just yet.

Would greatly appreciate the advice and guidance on how to navigate this. I absolutely love the look of the SR8's and I have no plans on returning them. But if I could, I would love to be able to utilize them as they arrive this Wednesday. Much appreciated!

No mods needed, 265 will fit just fine. And with 8" rims the 265 is more ideal for width, it will look more square and true, complimenting the rim.

265/65R17 with any "H/T" tire will be best for fuel economy.

Lots of people like the Firestone LE3, I've never seen a defective set.

I personally am a Yokohama fan, they have the H/T G056 tire.

Greatly appreciate it Bishop84! I am looking through TireRack and so far this is what I stumbled on:

    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...5TR7DLTX&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...7TCHTOWL&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...5TR7HT51&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes

I've owned many Michelin's, Continentals and Kumho's over the years so that was my initial pick. It looks like 65 ratio gives more rubber on the road, better handling than the 70R. I did find more variety for the 70R variants but I will stick to 65R as that seems to be the best ratio for what I am trying to do here.

70 will be taller and worse fuel economy, along with more potential for rub. 65 is the stock size for TRD Sport.

All those choices are good. Name brand and a good soft straight cut.

The conti looks damn close to the M LTX cut haha. Almost a rip off.

Too funny, I noticed the same thing looking at the tread. They're damn near identical minus the pattern seems just a tad bit tighter on the contis. I wonder if that would produce a quieter ride, it's also a decent chunk cheaper. 907 vs. 1107 buckaroos.

LTX's should be bought from costco if you go that route. They have a slightly different name but near identical.

Solid tip! I didn't even think of Costco. They never carry the tires I need (265/30ZR-20) but maybe they will have these. I may be able to save some more cash this way.

EDIT: Looks like this is all they carry:
