Beyond replacing the head unit has anyone found anything that helps the sluggishness of the entune system in a 3rd Gen? I can put up with the lack of screen quality a fair bit, but when I ask the thing to do something I want it to do it!

My guess is most folks will tell me I need to grow my patience but I figure it is worth a chance!

More helpful than the head unit, that is for sure!

    I’ve not experienced this issue.

Just wait for the random reboot to fix it.

The worst part of the factory head unit is the fact that the volume adjustment is a digital operation. The knob isn't actually a potentiometer that changes the volume, it just "asks" the computer to turn it up/down. So you need to be in the habit of leaving the volume low when you turn the car off, otherwise it will blast your ears off at next startup and you'll have to wait for the thing to finish booting for 30s before it decides to turn the volume down!

Both of these comments have me wondering if the fact that I am "connected" in my year long "trial period" has quite a bit to do with this...

I just got an SR with the 7" head unit and it drops audio quite frequently when playing Pandora via Android Auto.

Haven't tried just streaming audio via Bluetooth to see if there's a difference. I like having Google maps for nav instead of having a GPS unit, so it may be I'll never use AA unless I need nav if streaming via Bluetooth is better with no drops.
