Updated version just shipped today. I was told they install a little different than the original 4x4 model. Wondering if they are similar to the 2wd version. They will be uploading a video soon of the new install procedure.

Did they happen to say what they were going to do for folks that have the problematic version? I just installed mine last week. I'd return them (or at least the driver side) for the "updated version".

No, they haven't. I'll keep this thread updated when they arrive and post pics of the install and if there are any issues.

Do you have any contact info for @CaliRaisedLed that those of use with the original design can reach out to? Or, can you explain how you went about contacting them and who you spoke to?

I haven't installed mine yet, and would love to get the updated version as well. BTW, thanks for your post and the new info. Hoping your install goes well and you don't have any noise!

I used their online chat and the reply asked me to contact the engineering dept in the link they provided me with. It sent me to an online form to complete with the issue and I was also able to provide some pics.

I'm guessing I am only getting the new version since mine were vibrating and making noise. I think there was an earlier post from a member or CaliraisedLed about the cat touching the heat shield being a non issue. There are many that have installed theirs without any issues and I was told that only on occasion they will be an issue due to Toyotas exhaust variances. Always worth a shot to reach out to them, though.

Noticed that Cali Raised posted the new cat shield v2 install vid on youtube yesterday. Looks like it no longer goes over the crossmember and uses a spacer + longer bolts that go through the transmission crossmember. I ordered mine about 3 weeks ago (used reward points that I earned when I purchased sliders). BTW have been waiting 6 weeks already for the sliders....

Anyway, thought some might find this interesting to see the difference between the v1 & v2 cat shields.

Will be interesting to hear the feedback from everyone after the get/install v2.

Asked and answered on their site. Maybe someday, but with the demand and delays of the 3rd gen I wouldn't hold my breath just yet.

I am considering sending them back to get the new version. I will think about it for a few days.

Good call. My divers side V1 rattles in reverse and idle. I've installed it multiple times with 3M tape and even kicked it against a curb to bend it. The install was hard without a lift due to uneven loosening of metal bar that arches over the diver side cat. Glad for the redesign.

I wonder with those of us, that have the older version. Will they offer just the driver side update to prevent rattles?

Looks like I’ll have the V2s this week. I’ll post them up when I get them installed.
