So, I just had the Centerforce II clutch installed in my 2017 Tacoma and it feels amazing! REALLY like the setup, but randomly, at times and it seems as if it happens when you're holding the clutch in for more than a few seconds... this thing you can't get it out of the gear you are in - you have to REALLY pull on the shifter to get it out of Reverse at times, and other times it's completely buttery smooth and fine. Didn't happen at all with the OEM setup. So my question is, with the stiffer pressure plate, might it be that stupid accumulator thing not allowing something to operate smoothly any longer? Bled the clutch, that's all good. The kit came with new clutch, plate, flywheel and bearing so it's all new. Thanks.

No. The accumulator does not work like that. The disk only blocks flow in the engagement direction. When there is positive pressure, it firmly bears on the backing plate.

If you are getting clutch drag over time, there has to be a pressure drop somewhere. If not a leak, then maybe the master or slave seals are letting fluid by?

Of course, the ADM does help most everyone that has tried it.

    Agreed

Adm should help feel, but the accumulator should not cause the issue you describe.

I would check the slave cylinder for a leak, if none then I would guess the seal in the master might be letting fluid back into the reservoir

Sounds like the pressure is leaking down, usually from bypassing a cylinder seal, the fluid won't leak out on the ground.

Try holding the pedal down for a full minute while in gear, pulse your foot slightly on the pedal - just a 1/4" or so.

If the pressure isn't holding the clutch will start to engage with the pedal down.

This problem grows exponentially, at first you can quickly pump the clutch and shift, in a surprisingly short time it will start engaging with the pedal down almost instantly.

That made for a tough drive home... ;)

I’ve already ordered new. Can’t have it breaking on the trail next month. Thanks.
